All Souls Natural Burial Ground relies on volunteers to keep its grounds neat and assist with burials. Volunteers meet monthly to maintain the burial ground, and people willing to assist with burials are contacted on an as-needed basis.
Monthly Community Days
Volunteers meet at the burial ground on the second Saturday of each month from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Members of the community are welcome to join us!
Common Activities include:
Removing invasive plants
Clearing away deadfall from paths
Pruning limbs and vines that overhang paths
Answering questions about natural burial
Offering tours of the grounds
Wear protective, sturdy shoes. Don’t forget to bring bug spray, sunblock, and a water bottle!
Assisting with Burials

Common tasks performed by volunteers at burials include:
Setting up chairs
Ensuring that the path to the burial site is clear of debris
Guiding burial attendees to the burial site
Pulling the cart that bears bodies to burial sites
Lowering bodies into graves
Decorating the mound of soil with greenery
Raking soil into a mound over the closed burial site
